Bacon Ob Woonsen (Steamed Bacon and glass noodles) – We do love ourself a one-pot dish, especially one that is originally cooked in one pot…and that is also very delcious. This dish has everything you could want, Bacon, Glass noodles…Soy sauce. It’s easy to make at home and most special ingredients you can find in your local Asian shop. Try it! It’s super good!

Ingredients

  • 80 g glass noodles

  • 100 g bacon

  • 2 corriander roots

  • 3 cloves of garlic

  • 4 slices of ginger

  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce

  • ½ tsp black soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp caster sugar

  • ½ tbsp black pepper corn (crushed)

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 spring onion (cut into 1 inch pieces)

  • 2 Chinese celery (cut into 1 inch pieces)

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 120 ml water

Instructions

  • Soak glass noodle in water for about 15 mins or until it’s soft.
  • Mix light soy sauce, black soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil and water in a bowl. Add the glass noodle in and let it soak for around 3-4 min.
  • Put in bacon, garlic, peppercorns and corriander roots at the bottom of a pot. Then pour in the glass noodles and all the sauces and cover with the lid. Cook on medium heat for around 30 mins.
  • Once the noodles are transparent and all the sauce is absorbed, turn off the heat and top with spring onion and Chinese celery and serve.
