Gai Yang (Grilled Chicken)
Gai Yang ( Grilled Chicken) – This is a recipe for easy Thai grilled chicken. It contains some sauces that are standard in a Thai household and will be available in any Asian grocery store. Mouthwatering good, and super easy to make at home!
Gai Yang ( Grilled Chicken)

1 kg of chicken wings or drumsticks
5 corriander roots
6 cloves of garlic
1 tsp black pepper
4 tbsp oyster sauce
3 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil (prefereable, other vegetable oil works too)
1 tsp black soy sauce
Instructions
- Pound corriander root and garlic into a paste (or blend them in a blender).
- Add all wet ingredients (oyster sauce, soy sauce, black soy sauce and sesame oil) and mix well with the paste.
- Pour the marinade in a bowl or a ziplockbag with the chicken. Let it sit in the fridge for at least 1hr or better, overnight.
- Heat the oven at 150 degree celcius, pop in the chicken when the oven is ready. Let it cook for 40 minutes.
- Serve with sticky rice, and Som Tum (optional)
