If you want easy, authentic but delicious Thai food look no further! Yum Woon Sen (Glassnoodle Salad) is a go to in Thai house holds. Some veggies for freshness and crunch, Meat for that umami flavour and some Look Chin ( Thai meatballs) for texture. Then drench it in the legendary Yum Dressing! Yum, more like Yuuuuuummy! That spicy, sour, sweet dressing is a perfect mix of thai flavours ready to take your mouth to flavour town! A simple dish with a lot of complexities. That’s the Thai way! And as we say in our house, it’s the Thai Way or the Highway!

P.s. This dish is very good with big shrimps 🙂

Yum Woonsen (Glass noodle salad)

Ingredients

  • 2 packs (80 g) Glass noodles

  • 200g Minced pork (or other minced protiens)

  • 50g Pork balls/Fish balls

  • 10 Big shrimps

  • 1 Onion

  • 50g Cherry tomatoes

  • 2 stalks Celery

  • 3 Spring onions

  • Corriander

  • Iceberg lettuce

  • Peanuts

  • Dressing
  • 4 tbsp Fish sauce

  • 4 tbsp lime juice

  • 2 chopped Thai chilies (or to taste)

  • 1 tbsp Palm sugar

Instructions

  • Soak glass noodles in room temperature water for 10 mins or according to the package.
  • Prep all the veggies: Thinly slices onions and cut cherry tomatoes in half, set aside. Chop celery, coriander and spring onion, put together in another plate. Cut iceberg lettuce into bite-size pieces.
  • On the stove, add around 3 tbsp of water and put it on high heat until the water starts to boil. Add minced pork, stir until halfway cooked, add shrimps and wait until cook. Set aside.
  • On another stove, boil a full pot of water, when it starts to boil, add in the glass noodles & fish/pork balls and cook for 2 minutes. Drain it well.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for dressing (fish sauce, lime juice,palm sugar and chilies), mix until the sugar dissolves. Add lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cooked pork and glass noodles. Mix it well.
  • At this stage you can adjust the flavor since the dressing will absorb into the noodles. You can adjust the taste according to your preference. Then add all the chopped herbs and peanuts and voila – Yum Woon Sen is served!
